The 2026 awards contest from the Society of Professional Journalists Oklahoma Pro Chapter is officially open as of February 15 with the submission period ending JUNE 15, 2026. Entries must be work completed and published in 2025 by an Oklahoma journalist, organization or network.
We’re excited to announce the addition of new digital categories this year, creating even more opportunities to recognize the outstanding work being produced across the state.
Oklahoma journalists are encouraged to submit their best work from 2025, including reporting, photography, and digital journalism. This is your chance to have your work honored alongside some of the best journalism in Oklahoma. We're also accepting nominations for our three individual awards: Carter Bradley First Amendment Award, Teacher of the Year Award and Lifetime Achievement Award.

Entry rates are as follows:
EARLY BIRD RATE (Entries submitted prior to MAY 1): $15
Regular rate (Entries submitted between February 15 and June 15): $20
Carter Bradley First Amendment Award: Free
Teacher of the Year Award: Free
Lifetime Achievement Award: Free
